May 9 report

Over the course of the day, an online dialogue has started to develop between the four people working on the disability network. We are now able to communicate easily to one another via email, and I have created a communal document on Google Drive where we can all place our ideas, information and messages regarding the disability network or anything else that can be accessed at anyone's convinence, and it also comes with a built in chat feature for anyone currently looking at the document. Now that there are no communication barriers between me and everyone else outside of meetings, I feel I understand my coworkers much better now and things will get moving quicker.

I spent some time today again struggling with disability categorization, before deciding it was probably not a effective use of my time. I then decided to learn more about the disabilities themselves - specifically learning disabilities, so that I can hopefully understand how to properly organize information on that subsection since there are very few distinct and named types of LDs. Additionally, I also started a close review of the social studies network - not only the blog posts themselves, but also the Alberta programs of study they correspond to and reference, to see how the blog creator(s) incorporated and distilled 20+ pages of material into single blog posts. I want to maintain some level of consistency with those prior efforts, so that the English and Social Studies blog will end up appearing to have been made by the same entity. This is tedious work, so I intend to space it out in smaller time blocks over several days instead of doing marathon sessions.
